When did booking become so difficult??

My husband and I have been trying to book flights to visit family for the summer. I have used Expedia religiously in the past. However this time it has been nothing but a nightmare! I find the flights I want and then the price goes up $1500+. I find different flights and when I try to select them there is an error or they are no longer available. If the price changed, then update it!! If the flight is no longer available, dont show it as an option!! What a waste of my time and energy. Dont think I will be using Expedia anymore.
